Keep It simple

Make it snappy

Be the change

I. Plan

Five minutes.

In teams of 1 or 2, students decide what they want to call about.

Strategize about who would be best to call about this issue.

Write a script for a 30 second phone call.

Sample scripts

Anti-Climate Change

My name is <______>. I'm a constituent concerned about Trump's record of denying climate change. I ask that <Senator/Representative ______> publicly condemn Trump's threats to repeal the Clean Power Plan and withdraw from the Paris agreement. I want the <Senator/Representative> to refuse to compromise with Trump if he appoints climate change deniers.

Pro-Climate Change

My name is <______>. I'm a constituent concerned about the lack of climate change. I ask that <Senator/Representative ______> publicly support Donald Trump's threats to repeal the Clean Power Plan and withdraw from the Paris agreement. We need the world to boil. I want the <Senator/Representative> to demand that Donald Trump appoints climate change deniers and deletes all of our climate change data. Also, please have him call Frederick Douglas ASAP about the Bowling Green Massacre.

II. Execute

For your US House Representative or US Senator, phone the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

For your governor, use the USA.gov website to get your governor's phone number.
